If any of the following factors are present in your child’s life, your child is at risk!
- Physical health concerns or issues
- Poor diet and/or lack of adequate physical exercise
- Lack of personal interaction skills demonstrated by lying, cheating, stealing
- A less than favorable neighborhood, community or school
- A questionable or inappropriate peer group
- A lack of parental support and guidance
- Excessive impulsivity
- Diagnosed ADD or ADHD
- Rebelliousness or nonconformity
- Drug use and/or attitude towards drug use
- A family history that includes violence, substance abuse or anti-social behavior
- Poor communication skills
- Overly dependent
- Hostility
- Extreme shyness
- No apparent spiritual belief system
- Low academic expectations
- Being held back one or more grades in school
- School failure or low grades
- Low career expectations
- A lack of discipline
- Delinquency
- Low self esteem
- An unstable family
- Poverty
- Abuse or neglect both physical and psychological
- The absence of one biological parent
- A parent not at home when children come home from school
- A lack of support systems including extended family contact
- Excessive risk taking
